You will enter Chelsea and the Meatpacking District to discover high-end boutiques, art galleries and restaurants/cafes where famous names like Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Bacon, amongst a handful, see anonymity from the curious crowds of the downtown core. Then venture into hip SoHo for an education in architecture, art and history, and then head over to the Civic District to visit the City Hall, NYPD and Courthouses. Once downtown, pay homage to the memories and photos of the desceased at Ground Zero, once the site of the World Trade Center buildings, and stop for a moment of peace at St. Paul’s Chapel. You will then be whisked by bus into downtown, seeing Wall Street and Broadway’s famed bull. Afterwards you will have plenty of chances to snap scenic views of the upper section of New York’s harbor, gazing out at the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Then with just enough time before lunch, get further views of three main bridges, including the Williamsburg, Manhattan and Brooklyn. Your lunch stop will be a real treat, putting your feet up and enjoying varied delicacies at Katz’s Deli, which was forever immortalized globally as the location of one of the most memorable scenes in ‘When Harry Met Sally’. You will get up close and personal with autographed photos of the main actors and get a feel of the real atmosphere that lent itself so well to the scene. (Lunch is not included in the tour price). After lunch you will be bussed from site to site, sometimes walking if they are close enough together. You will enter midtown and uptown, exploring the United Nations Buildings, Grand Central Terminal, the Rockefeller Center, the Today Show studio, Radio City Music Hall, St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Upon arriving at the Upper West Side, get a good dose of history and relaxation when your guide expertly navigates the many annals of time at the NY Historical Society, The Dakota Apartments (Yoko Ono’s current home), the Museum of Natural History and Central Park. (museum admission not included in tour price) As if that was not enough walking and discovery, you will see one of the world’s largest gothic style cathedrals, the Gothic Revival Cathedral, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, Ivy League University, the Seinfeld Restaurant and Columbia University. Enjoy a bus tour of Riverside Drive, visiting Grant’s Tomb before entering Harlem. Harlem will delight you its historic houses on 125th Street, the Apollo Theater and the Museum Mile.
