This tour runs any day we reach a minimum of 4 people. *This tour is the City tour as it was done before Katrina. There will be some unavoidable sites of devastation, but they are minimal. This is NOT the Post Katrina City tour.
French Quarter, history and architecture of the old Creole city, Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral, the Pontalba row houses, and an overall view of the Mississippi River.
Drive by the French Market, the old U.S. Mint and the stately mansions along Esplanade Ave. Stop for a guided walking tour of historic St. Louis Cemetery #3 on Esplanade Avenue. Riding along peaceful Bayou St. John, we view houses from the late 1700’s. Drive through City Park, we see the antique Carousel & centuries old Live Oaks. Along Lake Pontchartrain’s shores our levee system is explained and the longest of all Causeway bridges is seen.
Stop for a guided tour of LONGUE VUE MANSION and GARDENS, an exquisite 8 acre Grand city estate. Continue with Uptown, the Universities, the 160 year old Streetcar line & St. Charles Avenue’s grand colonial mansions and into the Garden District to show famous (maybe haunted?) historic homes.
Downtown, around the Superdome and through the heart of the business district, we return to your hotel. |
