Experience supreme views of New York City in the heart of midtown Manhattan at Rockefeller Center! The newly renovated Observation Deck on the 70th floor of 30 Rockefeller Plaza, provides unparalleled views of The Big Apple!
Initially opened in 1933, the 69th and 70th floors of Rockefeller Plaza were originally designed to resemble the upper decks of a 1930s grand ocean liner. It features gooseneck fixtures and large air-conditioning vents intended to look like the stacks on a ship's deck.
The breathtaking landscape stretches for miles in every direction and includes panoramic views of: - Central Park: This large public, urban park has become famous for its appearance in many movies and television shows.
- Chrysler Building: This skyscraper in New York City, located on the east side at the intersection of 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue, stands at 1,047ft and was briefly the world's tallest building before the Empire State Building surpassed it in 1931.
- Times Square: Times Square is the major intersection at the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue and stretching from West 42nd to West 47th Streets. The theaters of Broadway and the huge number of animated neon and LED signs have long made it one of New York's iconic images, and a symbol of the intensely urban aspects of Manhattan.
- The Hudson River: Running through the eastern portion of New York State and, along its southern terminus, the Hudson River establishes the border between the states of New York and New Jersey. It is named for Henry Hudson, an Englishman sailing for the Dutch East India Company, who explored it in 1609.
- The East River: A tidal strait in New York City, it connects Upper New York Bay on its south end to Long Island Sound on its north end. It separates Long Island (including the boroughs of Queens and Brooklyn) from the island of Manhattan and the Bronx on the North American mainland.
- The Brooklyn Bridge: New York City's most populous borough, with more than 2.5 million residents. If the borough was still considered an independent city, it would be the 4th largest city in the United States. Though a part of New York City, Brooklyn maintains a character of its own characterized by cultural diversity, an independent art scene, distinct neighborhoods, and a unique architectural heritage.
- The Statue of Liberty: Presented to the United States by France in 1886, this iconic statue was originally intended for placement in Egypt, but the French decided to give it to America in response to their help in their war. It currently stands at Liberty Island as a welcome to all visitors, immigrants and returning Americans.
